By: Oliver Fisher Massimiliano Allegri’s outburst after Napoli’s draw against Roma has made the headlines, as he referred to last season with AC Milan. Milan collapsed from being in a Scudetto race going into the final third of the season…

Manager Massimiliano Allegri vented his frustration after receiving a red card during a thrilling 3-3 draw between Napoli and Roma. Following Leonardo Balerdi's late equalizer for Roma, which came after Scott McTominay had put Napoli ahead 3-2, Allegri was sent off by the referee. The manager complained that officials favored Roma, claiming that he previously paid the price by losing his job at AC Milan.
Allegri referenced Milan's previous campaign, when his side fell out of the top four on the final matchday after losing to Cagliari. Milan surrendered an eight-point lead over Gian Piero Gasperini's side across the final five games, allowing Roma and Como to overtake them and leading to Allegri's dismissal.
