Released Bradford ace Joe Keyes lands new club with France move confirmed

Veteran half-back Joe Keyes has signed with French Super XIII club Avignon for their 2026/27 campaign following his departure from Super League club Bradford Bulls. The 31-year-old playmaker was released by Bradford at the end of the 2026 season after an injury-plagued year limited him to four appearances across all competitions. Avignon confirmed his arrival on social media ahead of their opening match against Villefranche.

The transfer represents the first time the 12-time Ireland international will play club rugby outside the United Kingdom. Keyes previously played for London Broncos, London Skolars, Hull KR, York Knights, Halifax Panthers, and Bradford over a career spanning 215 professional matches.
