Tuch seems to be doing just fine without the Sabres, with seven goals in 10 games. The Sabres are doing less well without him.

Alex Tuch scored twice, including the overtime winner, to lead the Washington Capitals to a 4-3 victory over his former team, the Buffalo Sabres. Tuch beat goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in the extra period after earlier cutting Buffalo's 2-0 lead in the first period. The winger, who joined Washington on an eight-year, $10.5 million contract over the summer, now leads the Capitals with seven goals on the season.
Buffalo initially built an early advantage with goals from Jack Quinn and Josh Doan, alongside an effort from Ryan McLeod. However, Dylan Strome also scored for Washington, while Sabres forward Zach Benson missed a crucial short-handed breakaway. Buffalo head coach Lindy Ruff noted that his team needs to eliminate defensive-structure mistakes after trailing into the third period for the 10th time in 11 games.
