Andrew Benintendi and Luis Castillo are both expensive players on the White Sox roster that aren't providing much value. The White Sox should find a way to move on from them this offseason.

Southside Showdown argues that the Chicago White Sox should find a way to move on from expensive veterans Andrew Benintendi and Luis Castillo this offseason. Despite the team reaching the ALDS behind a core of young talent, writer Noah Phalen notes that both players carry substantial financial commitments while offering diminished on-field value.
Benintendi is owed approximately $15 million in the final season of his contract after playing primarily in a platoon DH role. Meanwhile, Castillo is owed $24 million for 2027 following a difficult stint with Chicago, though Phalen acknowledges trading or cutting either player remains complicated.
