On Saturday evening, the Cleveland Cavs improved to 1-1 on the 2026-27 NBA season with a narrow home win over the Brooklyn Nets. For the second straight game, the Cavs controlled things for most of the way before melting down…

Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson admitted that his team is not in "elite condition" after a narrow home win against the Brooklyn Nets. The Cavaliers improved to 1-1 on the season after nearly surrendering another large lead late in the contest. Atkinson noted that fatigue played a major role in the team's late-game struggles.
The near-collapse followed Cleveland squandering a 29-point advantage in their season-opening loss against the Philadelphia 76ers. Atkinson emphasized that finding rhythm and battling through fatigue is typical early in the season. The Cavaliers will continue their schedule on Monday with a home matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
