Simon Colyn elevates CanMNT hopes, scores vs. UEFA Europa League regulars Midtjylland

Canadian attacker Simon Colyn scored his fifth league goal of the season for Lyngby BK in a 3-2 defeat against FC Midtjylland on Sunday. Playing as a false nine, the 24-year-old scored in the 32nd minute from the top of the box following an assist from winger Lauge Sandgrav. The goal marks Colyn's sixth goal in 13 matches across all competitions this season.

Colyn has now scored against the Danish Superliga's top four teams this campaign: Midtjylland, FC Copenhagen, Viborg FF, and FC Nordsjælland. With the Danish league observing an extended winter break from early December until mid-February, the article notes Colyn could serve as an option for head coach Jesse Marsch and Canada's men's national team ahead of a potential camp in early 2027.
