Real Madrid defeated arch-rivals Barcelona 2-1 at the Camp Nou on Sunday, highlighted by a Kylian Mbappe double that included a late winner. The victory snapped Barcelona's nine-game domestic unbeaten streak and brought Jose Mourinho's squad within three points of the league leaders, averting a potential nine-point deficit at the top of the table.
The result marked Mourinho's sixth consecutive El Clasico without defeat, equaling a club record held by Miguel Munoz and Vicente del Bosque. While Mourinho praised his players' composure, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick cited a lack of freshness after a demanding schedule as a key factor in the defeat.
