This former Sabres goalie has landed a contract with the Rangers.

Former Buffalo Sabres goaltender James Reimer has signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the New York Rangers for the 2026-27 season. The deal marks his 17th NHL season and follows a professional tryout with the Rangers' AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, where he posted a 35-save shutout against the Providence Bruins on October 23.
The Rangers moved to sign Reimer amid severe goaltending injuries, with starter Igor Shesterkin ruled out for the season and backup Joonas Korpisalo sidelined for multiple weeks. Reimer is set to serve as an experienced backup to rookie Dylan Garand after spending the previous season with the Ottawa Senators.
