New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson appeared to erupt at quarterback Geno Smith and team coaches during Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins. After the game, Wilson downplayed the incident to reporters, claiming the two were merely heated and collaborating about playing more aggressively, while Smith stated he did not believe Wilson was yelling at him.
Wilson caught two passes on three targets during the game, while Smith completed 23 of 30 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns. Despite strong offensive showings from Omar Cooper Jr and Mason Taylor, the Jets struggled defensively, allowing Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis two passing touchdowns and a rushing score in Miami's first victory of the season.
