Stephon Castle has made 11-of-29 threes through three games, and the pull-up is coming along. The Spurs’ three-guard lineup works because of what he’s adding.

Air Alamo's Jahlil Williams highlights that Stephon Castle's improved shooting is neutralizing defensive schemes against the San Antonio Spurs early in the season. Through three games, Castle has attempted 29 three-pointers and converted 11, shooting 37.9% from beyond the arc. The Spurs began their campaign with a 1-2 record, including a 122-106 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
Williams argues that Castle's increased shot volume and developing short-to-midrange pull-up jumper will prevent opposing defenses from sagging off him. He writes that combining Castle's shooting with rim pressure and pick-and-roll lob threats to Victor Wembanyama leaves opposing defenses without effective answers.
