Houston Rockets guard Marcus Smart will be sidelined for a short period due to a left forearm strain. The team listed Smart as out for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks and designated him as day-to-day and questionable for upcoming contests. Smart previously sat out Saturday's 121-114 victory over Atlanta with the same injury.
Smart joined the Rockets in July on a two-year contract after spending last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Head coach Ime Udoka emphasized Smart's defensive edge and mentorship on a roster that also features veterans Fred VanVleet, Kevin Durant, and Steven Adams.
