Connor Hellebuyck took the ice on Monday for the first time as a Devil at team practice. The three-time Vezina winner is eager to be thrown back into the fire for game action with New Jersey.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck declared he is ready to play immediately following his first practice with the New Jersey Devils on Monday. Traded from the Winnipeg Jets on October 23, Hellebuyck could potentially make his Devils debut as early as Tuesday night against the Dallas Stars during New Jersey's upcoming back-to-back road trip.
Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe noted that Hellebuyck spent 29 days skating against NHL shooters in Michigan prior to the trade, eliminating the need for an extended ramp-up period. While Hellebuyck declined to discuss the specifics of his departure from Winnipeg, former Jets teammate Brenden Dillon praised the veteran goaltender's leadership and vocal presence as New Jersey integrates him into the lineup.
