Boston Bruins coach Marco Sturm defended Morgan Geekie's offensive struggles amid his start to the 2026-27 season.

Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm has defended forward Morgan Geekie following practice at Warrior Ice Arena, downplaying concerns regarding Geekie's early-season scoring drought. Despite the forward recording just one goal through the first 12 games of the 2026-27 NHL regular season, Sturm emphasized that scoring slumps are normal and expressed confidence that Geekie will work through it.
The Bruins have started the season with a strong 9-2-1 record heading into an October 27 matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. Scott Roche notes that Boston has been buoyed offensively by younger contributors, specifically naming James Hagens, Fraser Minten, and Matthew Poitras, which has cushioned the impact of Geekie's slow start.
