Ryan Garcia Shamelessly Pushes for Fighter of the Year Over O’Shaquie Foster

Boxing News 24 reports that Ryan Garcia launched a social media campaign advocating for himself as 2026 Fighter of the Year. Garcia targeted O'Shaquie Foster's credentials by dismissing Foster's win over Raymond Ford as not being against a standout fighter. Foster countered online, asserting that his victories over Ford and Emanuel Navarrete significantly outweigh Garcia's wins over Conor Benn and Mario Barrios.

Boxing News 24 argues that Foster holds a clear advantage in opponent quality and achievements, having unified three super featherweight titles. The outlet views Garcia's social media push as a calculated effort to downplay Foster's accomplishments and control the award narrative.
