Panthers coach Dave Canales revealed following yesterday’s loss that Taylor Moton would be out “for a while.” That absence will ultimately span the rest of the season, as the lineman is set to undergo season-ending ankle surgery, per Joe Person…

Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Taylor Moton will undergo season-ending ankle surgery after suffering a fractured fibula and ligament damage. Head coach Dave Canales confirmed the veteran lineman will face a lengthy absence, concluding Moton's 2026 campaign after appearing in just two games. Moton had previously missed the opening four weeks of the season while recovering from blood clots.
First-round rookie Monroe Freeling will step back into the starting lineup at right tackle to replace Moton. Meanwhile, Rasheed Walker remains at left tackle as Ikem Ekwonu continues his recovery from a ruptured patellar tendon. To fill Moton's vacant roster spot, the Panthers signed linebacker Nick Hampton to their 53-man roster.
