A 2023 first-round pick out of Alabama, Miller a week ago signed a five-year, $209 million contract extension.

Brandon Miller scored a career-high 39 points to lead the Charlotte Hornets to a 110-103 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday night. The win marks Charlotte's third victory in four games to open the season, despite playing without injured starters Coby White and Kon Knueppel, along with key reserve Grant Williams. Miller took control by scoring 27 points across the second and third quarters.
Washington rallied from a 14-point deficit late in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to three before Miller sealed the win with a clutch jumper and free throw. Naz Reid contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds for Charlotte, while Anthony Davis paced the Wizards with 29 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat.
