Eddie Howe would be a brilliant Manchester United appointment if Michael Carrick is sacked

Manchester Evening News writer Steven Railston argues that Eddie Howe would be the ideal manager to replace Michael Carrick at Manchester United. With United sitting just one point above the relegation zone, Railston suggests Howe offers vital Premier League experience and a track record of rebuilding struggling squads, making him a more realistic option than Antonio Conte, Unai Emery, or Julian Nagelsmann.

Railston notes that while some fans desire a higher-profile manager, Howe's tactical intensity and high-pressing philosophy match supporter expectations. Although Newcastle United suffered domestic drop-offs during European campaigns before Howe stepped down, Railston contends that Manchester United's superior resources would enable Howe to establish the necessary foundations to challenge for major honors.
