They didn’t name the dance after him, but if he continues to grow his game like he has as of late, Matvei Gridin may very well be remembered for it.

Matvei Gridin scored two goals and celebrated with "The Griddy" dance as the Calgary Flames defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 on Monday night. The 20-year-old winger also added an assist on Martin Pospisil's empty-net goal, while Zayne Parekh provided a standout 150-foot assist to help Calgary earn its fourth consecutive victory.
Flames captain Mikael Backlund scored in his return from injury, tying Johnny Gaudreau for fifth on the franchise points list, while goaltender Devin Cooley earned the win in net. Toronto got goals from Easton Cowan and William Nylander, but lost forward Kirill Marchenko to an apparent leg injury during the contest.
