Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and is expected to miss 10 weeks. McCann featured in Seattle's 5-3 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Thursday but was sidelined for Saturday's game against the Minnesota Wild. Through 12 games for the 7-4-1 Kraken this season, the forward has recorded three goals and five assists.
McCann is in the final season of a five-year contract carrying a $5 million salary cap hit. To address his absence in the top six, Seattle called up forward Jani Nyman from the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds, where Nyman has scored nine goals in nine games.
