Early goals and Devin Cooley was the difference in Calgary…

The Calgary Flames ended the Toronto Maple Leafs' four-game winning streak with a 5-2 victory at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary goaltender Devin Cooley made 26 saves to secure the win, extending the Flames' own winning run to four games. Calgary built an early lead with two goals from Matvei Gridin and a tally from Mikael Backlund, while two late empty-net goals sealed Toronto's defeat.
Toronto winger Kirill Marchenko suffered a leg injury early in the second period after sliding into the boards and did not return. Easton Cowan scored Toronto's opening goal, and William Nylander cut Calgary's lead to 3-2 on a play that marked Auston Matthews's 800th career NHL point before penalties and empty-netters halted Toronto's comeback attempt.
