As Carolina improves as a club, they know more and more teams are going to bring them their best shot. After years of being the scrappy team to deliver a blow, now they have to learn how to take one.

The Carolina Panthers are adjusting to becoming a targeted opponent rather than underdogs following a 43-13 Week 7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Dave Canales emphasized that as the team improves, opponents will consistently deliver their best efforts. Canales noted the critical challenge is maintaining identical urgency, preparation, and focus each week regardless of whether the team is coming off a win or a defeat.
Carolina currently holds an 8-3 record following a loss since the start of the 2025 season, but sits at just 3-8 after a victory. Veterans Derrick Brown, Darren Waller, and Tershawn Wharton highlighted the necessity of avoiding complacency and building consistency as the Panthers turn their attention to a Thursday matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
