Nick Caserio and the Houston Texans are in a bad spot entering their bye week as the trade deadline approaches.

Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio faced local criticism after downplaying expectations for major roster changes ahead of the upcoming trade deadline. Speaking on October 26 following a loss to the New York Giants, Caserio stated that the team would not make knee-jerk decisions and indicated that any significant personnel overhauls would wait until the offseason. He emphasized that the Texans' improvement must primarily come from internal player development and better on-field execution.
The Texans have already made roster moves, acquiring wide receivers Kayshon Boutte from the New England Patriots and Marvin Harrison Jr. from the Arizona Cardinals. Despite lingering concerns regarding the offensive line, Caserio noted that Houston will not aggressively overhaul the roster before the November 10 deadline, warning that underperforming players could face offseason departures if performance does not improve.
