The Story in 60 Seconds

Patrick Corbin provided early stability to the Toronto Blue Jays' starting rotation in 2026 before struggling and eventually suffering a season-ending injury. Signed to a one-year, $1-million deal on April 3 following injuries to multiple Toronto pitchers, Corbin impressed across April and May, posting a 3.60 ERA in May and notably outdueling Paul Skenes in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

His performance declined sharply in June, where he recorded an 8.69 ERA across five starts and was subsequently moved to the bullpen. Corbin was placed on the 15-day injured list on July 23 with a left teres major strain, ending his season with a 3-4 record and a 5.51 ERA over 19 appearances.
