NASCAR says Kyle Larson never went below the double-yellow line on his last-lap charge at Talladega, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. agrees. NASCAR's explanation of the rule changed twice Sunday night.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. publicly supported NASCAR's decision regarding Kyle Larson's controversial final-lap move at Talladega Superspeedway. Larson secured a dramatic victory in the YellaWood 500 after charging from 11th place on the last lap to edge out Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron by just 0.041 seconds. Following the finish, questions arose over whether Larson violated NASCAR's double yellow line rule during his winning pass.
NASCAR officials ruled that Larson never dipped below the yellow line on the final lap, validating his race victory. Earnhardt Jr. agreed with the ruling, defending the sanctioning body's judgment despite pushback from fans and competitors such as Denny Hamlin.
