The Houston Astros interviewed Mike Rizzo for their GM vacancy, throwing a wrench into the idea that Matt Kleine is the favorite for the job.

The Houston Astros have interviewed former Washington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo for their general manager vacancy, according to a report from USA Today's Bob Nightengale. The interview reportedly took place on Monday, with reports indicating that the 65-year-old Rizzo has a deep desire to take over the position and holds strong respect for Astros owner Jim Crane.
Climbing Tal's Hill writer Jordan Campbell argues that Rizzo's candidacy complicates the pursuit of Milwaukee Brewers assistant Matt Kleine. Campbell suggests that while Rizzo represents an experienced option, Kleine would be the superior choice to modernize player development and guide the Astros into a new competitive era following the World Series.
