The Story in 60 Seconds

The Minnesota Vikings missed out on acquiring guard Quenton Nelson after the Indianapolis Colts traded the eight-time Pro Bowler to the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday. Despite trade speculation linking Minnesota to Nelson to replace injured left guard Donovan Jackson, Indianapolis agreed to deal him to Seattle in exchange for a 2027 third-round draft pick and a 2028 fifth-round draft pick.

Seattle assumes the remainder of Nelson's $16 million base salary, while Indianapolis absorbs $8.2 million in dead cap space for 2026. The Vikings continue to start undrafted lineman Joe Huber at left guard ahead of the November 10 NFL trade deadline.
