Harvey Elliott's loan spell at Valencia is going from bad to worse after the Liverpool midfielder was sent off in the 89th minute against Villarreal…

Liverpool loanee Harvey Elliott was sent off in the 89th minute of Valencia's 2-1 defeat against Villarreal after picking up two quick yellow cards. Valencia manager Javier Aguirre condemned the dismissal as "absurd" and "ridiculous" in his post-match press conference. Elliott had entered the match in the 69th minute before being booked for a foul and receiving a second yellow card for dissent.
Villarreal secured the victory via a 96th-minute goal from Georges Mikautadze after Pepelu and Alex Freeman had scored earlier. The 23-year-old midfielder, on a season-long loan from Liverpool, has zero goals and assists in six appearances as Valencia sit 19th in La Liga.
