A promising start dissolved into disaster as Minnesota exploited defensive lapses and a stagnant power play, burying Seattle with a three-goal surge that left the Kraken reeling.

The Minnesota Wild defeated the Seattle Kraken 5-1 on Saturday night following a decisive second-period surge. Kirill Kaprizov opened the scoring for Minnesota just 26 seconds into the game before Seattle's Berkly Catton tied it at 1-1. However, the Wild took complete control in the second frame, scoring three unanswered goals as Seattle managed only a single shot on goal.
Kraken head coach Lane Lambert highlighted coverage lapses that led to two breakaway goals, while defenseman Vince Dunn noted poor puck possession. Seattle also failed to convert on three power-play opportunities despite goaltender Joey Daccord being pulled early for an extra skater.
