Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo will be allowed to return to action for Switzerland next month following an investigation into forged Covid-19 vaccination certificates.

Switzerland captain Granit Xhaka and striker Breel Embolo have been cleared to rejoin the national squad ahead of November's fixtures. The Swiss Football Association confirmed that manager Murat Yakin can select both players following an investigation into forged Covid-19 vaccination certificates they obtained in 2022.
Both players received a suspended fine of 150,000 Swiss francs after concluding legal proceedings and missing prior international fixtures. National team director Pierluigi Tami supported their reinstatement, while manager Yakin will decide whether Xhaka retains the captaincy when the squad is announced on November 5.
