Another INEOS disaster: Why Michael Carrick has survived explained as new timeline for a managerial change emerges

Manchester United co-owners INEOS have decided to keep Michael Carrick as head coach ahead of Saturday's match against Chelsea. Despite expectations that Carrick would be dismissed following a 4-1 loss to Como, reports indicate that Sir Jim Ratcliffe opted against a dismissal primarily due to the high financial cost of compensating Carrick and his coaching staff.

The club's hierarchy reportedly plans to give Carrick three upcoming fixtures against Chelsea, AS Roma, and Aston Villa before the November international break. Rumors suggest a contractual break clause may take effect in November, potentially eliminating the required compensation payout if United decide to make a managerial change then.
