The New York Islanders will deploy a lineup featuring 11 forwards and seven defensemen against the Nashville Predators. Head coach Peter DeBoer confirmed that defenseman Scott Mayfield will enter the lineup, while forward Kyle MacLean will be a healthy scratch for the contest.
DeBoer cited a desire to prevent defensemen from sitting out too long while challenging the depth lines to improve their performance. The tactical change follows recent injuries to Cal Ritchie and Matias Maccelli, which previously forced line changes.
