The Atlanta Braves may want to start planning for life after Austin Riley, although exactly how to do that is anything but easy.

House That Hank Built writer Eric Cole argues that the Atlanta Braves must begin exploring trade options for third base prospects as contingency plans for Austin Riley. Following Riley's declining offensive production due to injuries and mechanical struggles, Cole contends that the Braves cannot rely solely on a potential rebound heading into 2027.
While internal minor leaguers like Alex Lodise, John Gil, and Tate Southisene exist, Cole suggests the Braves examine external trades. Potential targets proposed include the Pirates' Murf Gray, the White Sox's Cole Prosek, and the Dodgers' Chase Harlan, while acknowledging that viable third base alternatives remain scarce for general manager Alex Anthopoulos.
