Dream To Play Game 6 At State Farm Arena After Hawks Modify Schedule

The Atlanta Hawks have altered their game schedule to allow the Atlanta Dream to host Game 6 of the WNBA Finals at State Farm Arena. The Dream will face the Golden State Valkyries at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Consequently, the Hawks' scheduled NBA matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers has been pushed back to 8:00 p.m. to give arena crews enough time to swap out the basketball courts.

Writer Andrew Graham places blame on WNBA schedule makers for the venue controversy, noting that earlier planning could have avoided logistical issues. The arrangement enables the Dream to avoid playing at the 3,500-capacity Gateway Center Arena before permanently relocating all home games to State Farm Arena in 2027.
