Liverpool could be rocked by the departure of Alexis Mac Allister, with the midfielder now on the verge of leaving.
Alexis Mac Allister is reportedly on the verge of leaving Liverpool as the club prepares to overhaul its midfield in 2027. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 27-year-old midfielder's agents have already started working on a potential permanent transfer to La Liga or Serie A. While the Argentina international reportedly prefers to remain on Merseyside, Liverpool have decided against offering him a new contract with just over 18 months remaining on his current deal.
The potential exit comes despite manager Andoni Iraola's desire to keep the £150,000-a-week midfielder, praising his importance following a strong run of form. Mac Allister has made 12 appearances across all competitions this season, including scoring three goals in three Champions League matches. Dominic Lund argues that Liverpool should reconsider parting with the midfielder, noting his work rate as he covers 11.4km per 90 minutes.
