Gunners’ teenage star was sent off during shock Carabao Cup loss to Fleetwood…
Arsenal have decided to appeal the red card shown to 16-year-old Max Dowman during their Carabao Cup defeat to Fleetwood Town on Tuesday. Dowman received a straight red card after kicking out in response to a tackle by Harrison Neal. Arsenal must submit their appeal documents to the Football Association by 1 p.m. GMT on Thursday, hoping for a resolution ahead of Sunday's match against Liverpool.
Dowman faces a three-match domestic ban covering fixtures against Liverpool, Hull, and Newcastle if the appeal is unsuccessful. Arsenal believe the red card was a disproportionate punishment, while manager Mikel Arteta was seen expressing frustration toward Dowman as he exited the pitch. Arsenal are already short on right-wing options, with Bukayo Saka injured and Noni Madueke dealing with an ankle issue.
