Remember when, every January, manufacturers released their new drivers and last year’s models got cheaper? That cycle used to be reliable but it no longer fits every brand. TaylorMade just joined PING, Srixon and Titleist on a two-year release cycle…

TaylorMade has shifted to a two-year release cycle for its metalwoods alongside PING, Srixon, and Titleist, changing traditional golf club discount timelines. With only Callaway and COBRA remaining on annual driver cycles, price cuts on previous models now depend heavily on each brand's specific launch schedule rather than an automatic January markdown.
According to retail data tracked across 2025 and 2026, flagship drivers typically see price cuts of 19 to 28 percent four to six months before a successor arrives, eventually reaching 30 to 35 percent off during clearance periods. Current October 2026 discounts include PING G440 drivers at $449 and Titleist GT models near $450.
