The 49ers made a splash in the trade market on Tuesday, reuniting with DeForest Buckner, but it may have not have been enough to take the spotlight.

The San Francisco 49ers made a major mid-season trade to bring back defensive lineman DeForest Buckner following a blockbuster move by the Seattle Seahawks to acquire Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson. Writer Zane Gelphman argues that while 49ers fans will celebrate Buckner's return, the trade fails to match the impact of Seattle's addition in the NFC West rivalry.
Gelphman notes that the 32-year-old Buckner is past his prime, while Nelson ranks among the league's top guards and has allowed zero sacks this season. Although the 6-1 49ers lead the division, the writer contends that Seattle won the trade day and San Francisco must seek further reinforcements.
