Rangers captain Lawrence Shankland is expected to return from injury ahead of schedule, manager Derek McInnes revealed. The 31-year-old striker suffered a severe hamstring injury against Motherwell on September 5, which required surgery and threatened to sideline him for four months. However, McInnes stated Shankland is now projected to make his return during the first or second week of December.
While the accelerated timeline rules him out of the upcoming match against his former club Hearts, Shankland is expected to miss only around three months total. His early comeback provides a significant boost for Rangers, who previously lost striker Youssef Chermiti to a suspected season-ending ACL injury.
