Miami Heat captain Bam Adebayo stated that outside critics are making him the scapegoat for the team's 0-4 start to the season. The rough opening stretch marks Miami's worst start since 2007-08, following a 113-109 home defeat to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, in which Adebayo scored eight points on 3-of-10 shooting.
Through four games, Adebayo is averaging 11.8 points and shooting just 16.7% from 3-point range as he adjusts to playing alongside offseason trade acquisition Giannis Antetokounmpo. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra and Antetokounmpo both defended Adebayo, noting that the entire team is working through chemistry issues and adjustments.
