Zach Werenski Ties One Of His Own Records In Last Night’s Win Over Philadelphia

Zach Werenski recorded two assists in the Columbus Blue Jackets' overtime victory against the Philadelphia Flyers. One of Werenski's helpers set up Kent Johnson and Adam Fantilli on the game-winning breakaway. Per NHL PR, this performance tied Werenski's franchise record of eight assists by a defenseman through the first 10 games of a season, matching his own 2016-17 mark and Ivan Provorov's 2023-24 record.

Werenski has totaled eight assists and eight points across his first 10 appearances of the campaign. Although he has not yet scored a goal, the writer notes that he entered the contest leading the team in shots and pushing offensive play. Columbus will next travel to face the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.
