Gunners set to rotate heavily against League Two opposition…
Fleetwood Town produced a historic Carabao Cup upset by eliminating Arsenal 5-3 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw at Highbury Stadium. Jay Lynch saved Bruno Guimaraes' penalty before teenage defender Conor Haughey converted the decisive spot-kick to send the fourth-tier club into the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
Mikel Arteta named a heavily rotated Arsenal lineup that included a debut for goalkeeper Illan Meslier and a start for Max Dowman, who was later sent off. Fleetwood took a shock lead before Viktor Gyokeres leveled for Arsenal, but Fleetwood held their nerve in the shootout to secure the win.
