Girona reportedly remains interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Brian Farinas ahead of the upcoming January transfer window. Farinas came close to joining Girona during the summer, but manager Hansi Flick blocked the move after being impressed with the youngster's training performances. However, Farinas has not played any minutes for Barcelona during the 2026-27 campaign.
Girona could offer Farinas a loan move to provide him with regular playing time and aid his development. While Barcelona has not indicated whether it will approve a winter exit, Farinas is currently tipped as a potential option at right-back against Alaves due to an injury to Xavi Espart.
