MAXENCE LACROIX hobbled off clutching his hamstring during Chelsea's Carabao Cup trip to Anfield. The £52million summer signing has started all bar one of the Blues' Premier League games this term. So the sight of him gingerly making his way…

Chelsea defender Maxence Lacroix suffered a suspected hamstring injury during the Carabao Cup fourth-round clash against Liverpool at Anfield. The 26-year-old French center-back pulled up while closing down Cody Gakpo late in the first half and was replaced by Levi Colwill in stoppage time. The match was tied 1-1 at the interval after Morgan Rogers and Gakpo exchanged penalties.
The setback presents a major concern for manager Xabi Alonso, as the £52 million summer signing has accumulated 634 league minutes this season, more than any other Chelsea defender. Despite his regular appearances, Chelsea's defense has struggled, having conceded nearly two goals per game in the Premier League.
