Geno Smith is set to play the Las Vegas Raiders for the first time since the team traded him in the offseason.

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith downplayed facing his former team, the Las Vegas Raiders, ahead of their Week 8 matchup, calling it "just another game." Despite a tumultuous tenure with the Raiders that ended in a trade after he led the league in interceptions, Smith voiced strong praise for defensive end Maxx Crosby, calling him a "game wrecker" and a close friend.
Both franchises enter the contest needing a victory, with Las Vegas on a four-game losing streak and the Jets dropping two consecutive games. Writer Austin Boyd notes that Jets head coach Aaron Glenn is under pressure, while a defeat for the Raiders could push them into becoming sellers at the trade deadline.
