The Story in 60 Seconds

Oliver Bjorkstrand has earned an opportunity back in the New York Rangers' top six forward group following an early-season demotion to the fourth line. Head coach Mike Sullivan moved the veteran winger to skate alongside J.T. Miller and Tye Kartye after Bjorkstrand tallied five goals and six points while primarily playing in the bottom six.

Bjorkstrand signed a one-year, $4.5 million deal with New York after scoring just 12 goals last season with the Tampa Bay Lightning. His promotion comes as Pavel Dorofeyev has managed only three goals to start the season, allowing Bjorkstrand to log a season-high 16:12 of ice time on Monday.
