So You Are has secured a place in the Melbourne Cup field, while Saint George has been withdrawn. The Bjorn Baker-trained stayer moved up to 24th in the Order of Entry after receiving a one-kilogram penalty for winning the Bendigo Cup, combined with the withdrawal of Saint George on Thursday morning.
Saint George, trained by Ciaron Maher and the recent Caulfield Cup runner-up, was ruled out of both the Melbourne Cup and the rest of the Spring Carnival after CT and PET scans revealed a heightened risk of injury. So You Are will carry 54kg at Flemington on Tuesday.
