The Carolina Panthers have elevated cornerback Wilson from the practice squad ahead of their Thursday Night Football road matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Carolina has faced severe depth issues at the position, with starting cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson on injured reserve, and backup Akayleb Evans sidelined with triceps and knee injuries.
Wilson brings 37 career starts of experience to a secondary currently left with only Will Lee III and Chau Smith-Wade as healthy active cornerbacks. Head coach Dave Canales highlighted Wilson's athleticism and outside capability, as Carolina also navigates the absences of pass rusher Jaelan Phillips and left guard Damien Lewis.
