The Pittsburgh Penguins return from a four-day break to face the Utah Mammoth following a previous road-trip loss. Ahead of the matchup, the Penguins announced multiple roster changes, including activating forward Justin Brazeau from injured reserve and placing Elmer Soderblom on IR. Avery Hayes and Chase Pietila were also reassigned to the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
In additional team updates, defenseman Sam Girard is nearing a return from an upper-body injury, and Ben Kindel resumed practicing after a recent in-flight medical episode. Meanwhile, trade rumors continue to surround forward Rickard Rakell despite a slow start to the season, as multiple teams reportedly monitor his availability.
