Ferrari know Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc may have one arm tied behind their backs at the 2026 F1 Mexico City Grand Prix this weekend…

Ferrari's hopes for Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc at the Mexico City Grand Prix will reportedly depend on whether their latest floor upgrade can offset an anticipated engine deficit. Engine simulations suggest the high altitude at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez will punish Ferrari's small turbocharger. Consequently, the team's chances hinge heavily on aerodynamic performance to prevent tyre damage in the thin air.
Ferrari introduced extensive aero updates at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, including modifications to the floor edge, bargeboard area, diffuser, and sidepod inlets. While Leclerc finished second behind Andrea Kimi Antonelli at COTA, Ferrari remains cautious about sustaining their recent podium run without sufficient downforce from the updated floor.
