Romero believes the Dutchman "has it all" and got the best out of him while they were together at Spurs.

Atlético Madrid defender Cristian Romero praised former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Micky van de Ven in an interview with Gaston Edul, calling him an incredible player who has everything. Romero highlighted the Dutch defender's exceptional speed, technical ability, footwork, and high-defending capabilities, noting that the pair brought out the best in each other during their partnership in north London.
Romero departed Tottenham for Diego Simeone's Atlético Madrid following a difficult 2025/26 campaign marked by injuries and leadership struggles as club captain. The Argentine defender, who is currently sidelined with a muscle injury, noted that Van de Ven is continuing to evolve under Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi.
